Liz Is All Biz was born from a simple idea: if you're going to spend your days helping people succeed, it might as well be people you actually care about.
More than 15 years ago, Liz was working in luxury retail finance in San Francisco. The work was interesting, the companies were successful, and the spreadsheets were plentiful. But as a retired musician surrounded by artists, entrepreneurs, and creative people building businesses from scratch, she found herself drawn to a different kind of challenge: helping real people turn their ideas—and their lives—into something sustainable and fulfilling.
What started as helping friends navigate taxes and finances grew into a firm built around the belief that people deserve advice that is both technically excellent and deeply personal. Not just someone to prepare a return, but a trusted advisor who understands where they've been, where they're headed, and how to help them get there.
Today, Liz Is All Biz serves clients across California, New York, and many places in between, as well as Americans living abroad. We help people make sense of the numbers so they can focus on what matters most to them. Whether it's tax planning, bookkeeping, business strategy, or navigating major life and business decisions, we're here for the conversations that happen long before—and long after—tax season.
The secret ingredient isn't software, processes, or a fancy framework. It's relationships. Many members of our team have worked together for years, and many of our client relationships span a decade or more. That history gives us something incredibly valuable: context. We know our clients' businesses, families, goals, wins, setbacks, and ambitions. That understanding allows us to provide advice that's not just accurate, but genuinely useful.
We're also intentionally small. We don't chase growth for growth's sake, and we don't take on hundreds of new clients every year. In fact, nearly all of our clients come through referrals from existing clients and trusted colleagues. We like it that way. It allows us to focus on the people we serve, build lasting relationships, and continue doing the kind of work that inspired Liz to start the firm in the first place.
